Quick Start: Your First Website Audit

Get a complete website audit in under 60 seconds. This guide walks you through running your first audit using the unified audit tool.

Step 1: Go to the Audit page

Navigate to /audit from the top navigation bar or visit the URL directly. No account is required — anonymous users get 3 free audits per day.

Step 2: Enter a URL

Type or paste the full website URL (e.g. https://example.com) into the search field and click Run Audit.

Step 3: Understand the results

The audit runs eight checks simultaneously: Performance, SEO, Security, Technical, Accessibility, Content, Core Web Vitals, and Broken Links. The first six load together; Core Web Vitals and Broken Links load asynchronously afterward.

The scoring system

Each category receives a letter grade and a numeric score out of 100:

  • A+ to A- (90-100) — Excellent. The site meets or exceeds best practices.
  • B+ to B- (80-89) — Good. Minor issues that are worth addressing.
  • C+ to C- (70-79) — Average. Several issues that affect user experience or rankings.
  • D+ to D- (60-69) — Poor. Significant problems that need attention.
  • F (below 60) — Critical. Major issues that are likely hurting traffic and conversions.

Step 4: Explore category tabs

Click any category tab to see detailed findings for that area. Each item shows a pass/fail status, what was found, and a recommendation for fixing it.

What to do next

  • View saved results — audit results are auto-saved to your Saved Reports when logged in. Create a free account to keep your audit history and increase your daily limit.
  • Share with a client — export the results as a PDF report from the audit page.
  • Run an On-Page analysis — use the On-Page SEO Analyzer for deeper content and readability checks.
  • Compare competitors — use Competitor Analysis to see how the site stacks up.
